Why Sylphiel?
Sylphiel is the kind of person who will go out of her way to help
others, and she is willing to make personal sacrifices to do so. She
is in general a quiet type who does not dwell on herself although she
does not completely ignore herself either. She will stand up for what
she believes in but actively tries to avoid hurting others unless
extreme circumstances call for action of that sort. As a child she
often played by herself away from the other children of the town in
the "forests" of the holy tree Flagoon, so she really learned to cope
with lonliness at an early age - but this didn't really truly hit her
until she lost her father. Never a very social person, she is
involved with others but in only a detatched sense; their lives never
really intermingle with hers. She obviously has desires and a will of
her own, but as luck would have it it seems that she is always the one
left out in the cold, most notably in the sense that she will never
have Gourry and she realizes it.
